TQS Food Consulting – Press Release and Competition Entry
Andi Skinner, MD of TQS Food Consulting, asked me to draft an 800 word statement to accompany an awards competition entry. There was a tight brief that asked for a good number of specific points to be covered. Quite a challenge to include everything in a short space.
Once I had seen the specification, I interviewed Andi over the phone, asking him outline the aspects of his business that were pertinent to the statement.
I wrote the first draft and sent it over to him. There were a few details that needed adjusting, and the timeline was a bit wrong in places, but a quick second chat cleared that up, and Andi was delighted with the second draft.
It was submitted along with all the other information requested. When they didn’t hear from the judging panel, as had been suggested they might, Andi called up to make sure their entry had definitely been received. It had – the judges had been happy with the statement and didn’t need to speak to them. Job well done!
I later wrote a press release about Andi’s book, the Seven Silly Slip ups of Product Labelling. The response was good, resulting in quite a few requests for review copies and several articles in the trade publications.
